Our Vision
Believers Church

Gene and June Evans believe if ministries are to be effective for the Lord they must be sent to an area. In 1989 the Lord witnessed to June that their ministry should be centrally located. He showed her that the Apostle Paul based his ministry in large central cities which became hubs from which he ministered. After praying about this the Evans felt that Atlanta, GA was a logical hub for their ministry.
In May 1990, the Evans leased a church building in Douglasville, Georgia, located about twenty minutes from the Atlanta airport and 2.5 miles from I-20. The building was purchased by the Evans’ ministry August 29, 1990.
Believers Church was incorporated June 27, 1990. Gene Evans was the Incorporator. The first service of Believers Church was a prayer meeting held on July 28, 1990, and on July 29th regular church services were begun. October 28, 1990 was designated as charter membership Sunday. At that time 38 people became charter members of Believers Church.
The Evans have an anointed teaching ministry dedicated to sound, practical Bible teaching which enables Christians to mature in Christ and to discover their place in the body of Christ, the church.
The Evans believe that the Lord has moved them to the Atlanta area and has supplied this facility so that a local congregation can be raised up to help in the work of the ministry. Believers Church is intended to be a local congregation with world vision and outreach. That begins with equipping local church members to do the work of the ministry
(Ephesians 4:11-14).
